This free patchwork rabbit pattern is darling and would make lovely Easter plushie gifts. Sew cute little bunnies with fabric squares in coordinating colors and prints. The backside of this rabbit is made with a solid piece of fabric so it look different when turned around. This bunny measures about 10 inches long and 8.5″ tall. Let’s see how to make a stuffed patchwork bunny and watch the video tutorial.
Free patchwork rabbit pattern to sew
With Easter time approaching, I find myself making all kinds of cute bunny projects and this stuffed bunny pattern is one of my favorites. I actually used it before in a post and made a bunny from an old men’s button down shirt!

For today’s post I made a video tutorial to show you the process of piecing fabric squares together in an easy way. Hopefully you are a video lover and will enjoy it! Be sure to get the pattern specifics to make this bunny below the video.
Instructional details:
As you can see in the video I misjudged the amount of fabric squares I needed, that’s because the seam allowance of all of those rows take away a good amount of fabric. I laid out the squares to make an almost square but cut the top and bottom left corners. The bunny template allowed for leaving off those corners. But if you like to work with even numbered squares and rows, go ahead and sew 25 squares together.
The absolute gorgeous fabric prints I used are from Art Gallery, designed by Bari J.. Her line is called Millie Fleur. The quality of this Art Gallery collection is amazing! A very soft and smooth material, great to work with. I have used this exact print combo on another project, a free baby sunsuit pattern. Go check it out!
Options for fabric squares:
- precut 2.5″x2.5″ squares, also called Mini Charm Packs for quilters
- scrap fabric pieces
- cut 2.5″ long strips of fabric, then cut into squares
- fat quarters also yield smaller projects like this bunny!
